A Well Known SNF located in Philadelphia, PA is looking for a Registered Nurse - Occupational Health

Position Type: 12 Weeks Contract/ Temp

Job-Related Requirements

Essential Functions, Qualifications, & Skills:

  • Oversee the Modified Duty Program, the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and leaves of absence processes, and ADA accommodation requests, ensuring a smooth transition for employees.
  • Prepare necessary correspondence and facilitate employees' return-to-work procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with department leadership on work hours, leave statuses, and other critical information regarding employees' leave of absence.
  • Provide initial assessment for work-related injuries and illnesses, coordinating follow-up care as needed and facilitating a safe and timely return-to-work process.
  • Coordinate and administer vaccinations and oversee employee compliance with mandatory immunization requirements, for new hires, employees and external healthcare providers.
  • Maintain detailed vaccination records.
  • Oversee case management for the Workers' Compensation Program, coordinating with healthcare providers, managing employee progress, and ensuring compliance with treatment plans and return to work procedures.
  • Review and approve results of pre-placement health screenings for candidates for employment.
  • Ensure that all screening results are accurately documented, and departmental requirements are consistently updated and maintained.
  • Coordinate the annual tuberculosis questionnaire/survey requirement for employees.
  • Organize COVID testing for employees who are symptomatic or who have had an exposure; or returning from a leave of absence.
  • Conduct contact tracing in partnership with Infection Preventionist and Director of Safety & Occupational Health Services to determine work-relatedness.
  • Participate in the review, development and revision of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed employee health records in compliance with HIPAA, Department of Health, and OSHA standards. Generate reports on trends, compliance, and program effectiveness for leadership, as needed.
  • Organize employee health and wellness events, such as workshops and information sessions on topics related to occupational health, wellness, and disease prevention.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Safety & Occupational Health Services, adhering to company policies and procedures.

Technology

  • Office 365 - Able to use Office 365 suite to manage calendaring, virtual meetings, basic tasks in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and comfortable using Microsoft Teams.

Role-Specific Competencies

  • Medical Office Expertise: Demonstrates basic medical office skills including filing, medical records storage, medical data entry etc.
  • Risk Management: Remains current on relevant laws, legal rulings and regulations and ensures organizational compliance.
  • Ethical Practice: Maintains confidentiality of employee records, verbal and written medical information.
  • First-Aid: Assess and provide basic first aid treatment to employees for non-work-related and work-related conditions. (when necessary)

Education & Experience

  • Position requires completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program with coursework in occupational health and/or safety.
  • Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a valid and unrestricted nursing license in PA required.
  • Experience in the performance of nursing skills relative to Occupational Health Services preferred.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Assess and provide basic first aid treatment to employees for non-work-related and work-related conditions.
  • Communication, problem-solving and organizational skills desired.
